Our Goals

The Everett Program serves two goals. First, it encourages students' future involvement in public service by acquainting them with the challenges and rewards of public interest work. Second, it provides the public interest community, which too often operates on limited resources, with the dedication, energy, and idealism that our interns bring to their work.

With these goals in mind, Henry and Edith Everett established their Everett Public Service Internship Program in 1989. Since then, two thousand students from communities across the country have discovered the immense satisfaction of contributing to society, while acquiring significant knowledge, experience, and career development opportunities.
